Connect Hall Update
I am so excited about the future here at Pleasant City Church. First of all, I have never related so much with the apostle Paul when he wrote about his heart for those he ministered to than in Philippians 1. “I thank my God upon every remembrance of you, always in every prayer of mine making request for you all with joy, for your fellowship in the gospel from the first day until now, being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ; 7 just as it is right for me to think this of you all, because I have you in my heart… you all are partakers with me of grace. For God is my witness, how greatly I long for you all with the affection of Jesus Christ.”
I really miss my church family. From those that do attend on Sundays because we are forced to rush you in and out. And those who have felt it is not safe for you to return. I miss the connection we have with one another, your faces of joy, your in person encouragement and your service in the kingdom of God as we co-labor together.
I have to keep reminding myself that God is still in charge and that just as the verse above reads, “that He who has begun a good work in you (us) will complete it”. This is not just a reminder for you and I but also for our church. He still has great things in store for us and continues to provide for us as we move forward building the kingdom.
As you know before the covid crisis we were having more people attend our church’s campus than any other time in its history and this created great challenges for us that God has provided for. We were very limited on adult small group space for our connection groups. By the time our connect groups start back we will have over 8,400 square footage of more space for that ministry—to equip more people with the Word of God. This addition allowed us to extend our outdoor recreation for children allowing us to reach more families and also give us more outdoor fellowship space (seating area of over 200). We also have been able to address our lack of parking spaces on Sunday mornings by adding 75 more spaces and adding more much needed handicap spaces closer to the building.
All of these construction projects including installed furnishings and equipment will be completed by October 1, 2020. That being said we are sitting on go when we are all able to return in the near future. Ready for us all to once again come together to Love God, Connect with Others and Reach the World.
Serving Him Together,
Bryan Glisson, Pastor
