Go & Tell
Pastor: Jonathan Glisson Series: Come & Go Scripture: Matthew 28:1–20, John 20:1–31
Introduction: The Purpose and Progress of the Church can be summed up into 2 Reflexes: “Come & See” and “Go & Tell”. Each day we are commanded to “Go & Tell” what God has done, is doing, and will do- we call this Missions. This reflex of the Church establishes its Progress.
When we “Go & Tell”. . .
Worship becomes Missions (Matthew 28:5-7)
We cannot divorce the Assistance of God from the Assignment of God
Fear becomes Faith (Matthew 28:8-10; Matthew 5:11-12)
The Worth of Christ overshadows the Weight of Suffering
Interruptions become Opportunities (John 20:11-18; John 13:34-35)
The Great Commission to Go is the Great Commandment to Love
Darkness becomes Light (John 20:19-23; Matthew 5:14-16)
The War is NOT between Light and Darkness
The War is between the Will to Shine in the Darkness or Hide in the Huddle
A Calling for a Few becomes a Command for All (Matthew 28:18-20)
The Unfinished work of the Church is to Go & Tell every person…
…from every nation about the Finished work of Christ
Application: When we “Come & See” and “Go & Tell”, we are living a life of purpose and progress that begins with an Empty Tomb and ends with a Wide Earth. This isn’t a call to Sacrifice as much as a call to Satisfaction.
