Spiritual Maturing - Part 1
Pastor: Bryan Glisson Series: Royal Invitation: Part 3- Glory Scripture: Romans 13:8–14
Introduction: In this passage, Paul gives practical instructions about how we, as believers, are to live the rest of the years God has ordained for us.
Paul prescribes six actions to take that will help us make the most of whatever time we have left:
Pay Up!—Be Careful with Debt (Romans 13:8a)
Build Up!—Love One Another (Romans 13:8b-10) (1 Corinthians 13:1-3, 8a)
Wake Up!—Make the Most of Opportunities (Romans 13:11)
Gear Up!—Be Prepared for Battle (Romans 13:12)
Clean Up!—Maintain a Pure Life (Romans 13:13a)
- Not a Lack of Self-Control (Romans 13:13b)
- Not a Lack of Moral Purity (Romans 13:13c)
- Not a Lack of Unity (Romans 13:13d)
Dress Up!—Think like Christ (Romans 13:14) (Romans 12:2) (Ephesians 4:22-24) (Galatians 5:16)
Application: Is this your prayer today? “Lord, I want the rest of my life to be the best of my life.”
For this prayer to be true in your life, verses 8-14 must become a reality in your life.
