Introduction: Fear convincingly is one of the most destructive emotions we experience in life. It can lead us into destructive behaviors and can keep us from God’s best. One of the greatest Bible stories of overcoming fear and having success comes from the narrative of Nehemiah.
Three Options Concerning Fear:
- Attempt to avoid it altogether
- Hope it will just go away
- Face it and overcome it
To Overcome Fear:
- Develop a burning passion within (Nehemiah 4:6)
- Accept fear as the price of victory (Nehemiah 4:7-8)
- Admit your fears (Nehemiah 4:9)
- Discover the root cause of fear
--intense fatigue (Nehemiah 4:10)
--paranoia (Nehemiah 4:11)
--threat of uncertainty (Nehemiah 4:12)
- Focus on things you can control (Nehemiah 4:13)
- Feed your faith, not your fear (Nehemiah 4:14)
- Put some victories under your belt (Nehemiah 6:15-16)
To Overcome The Fear Of Failure:
- Appreciate the value of failure
- Don’t take failure personally
- Let failure redirect you
- Ask why, not who
- Don’t Give Up
- Look at the Big Picture
