Introduction: One relationship we all have is that of a child to our parents. This relationship is one that God uses to grow us more than just about any other. How are we to look at this relationship from the child perspective and how can renovating this relationship bring glory to God?
Obeying parents brings wisdom (Luke 2:51-52)
Wisdom of:
-Their mistakes
-The world
-God
Honoring parents brings freedom (Ephesians 6:1-3)
Freedom from:
-Bitterness
-Hurt
-Their mistakes
Parents make great teachers but terrible deities (Matthew 10:35-37)
Application: If you can’t honor your parents who you can see, how will you ever honor a God who you can’t see?
