When You Are An Exhibitor

June 9, 2019 Pastor: Bryan Glisson Series: Flourish

Scripture: 1 Thessalonians 1:5–8

Series Introduction: “Flourish” may be one of the best words, to describe a Christian who is maturing in their faith.

Definition of Flourish: to be healthy and thriving; to blossom; to be at the height of influence

Introduction: Having a flourishing faith is God’s desire for all of us who have trusted His provision of salvation. The expressions of flourishing faith are evident and should be exhibited.

Flourishing Faith Will Be Shared

  • By Word (I Thessalonians 1:5a)   (1 Corinthians 15:1-4)

  • By Demonstration

           through power (I Thessalonians 1:5b)

through the Holy Spirit (I Thessalonians 1:5c)

           through assurance (I Thessalonians 1:5d)

           through example (I Thessalonians 1:5e)

Flourishing Faith Will Be Supernatural

  • An Imitator of Others (I Thessalonians 1:6)

             --evidence:  joy in affliction

  • An Example to Others (I Thessalonians 1:7)

             --evidence:  giving in poverty

Flourishing Faith Will Be Scattered

  • Sounded Out—like a trumpet (I Thessalonians 1:8a)

  • Spread Out—like a traveler (I Thessalonians 1:8b)

Application: Do you exhibit to the world, a faith that is flourishing? Do you exhibit what the Holy Spirit enables you to be and do?
