"A Silver Lining in the Cloud"

- You have a Climate - Environment you Create with your Demeanor/Mood
- You Usually do NOT Know what Your Climate is
Decisions > Climate > Forecast
- “What’s it like to Be on the other side of Me?”
- “What’s it like to Be with Me when Life’s Not Stress-Free?”
The Question: “What’s it like for You and Me when We Disagree”
Introduction: The Climate of your Relationships Improves when Conflict is Resolved, not Ignored. When conflict is resolved, the resulting climate is called “Unity.” Unity is the “Silver Lining in the Cloud” of Conflict.
The Fight for Unity
Fight with Humility (Ephesians 4:2a, 1 Peter 5:5)
- The most Mature person Apologizes First
Fight with Gentleness (Ephesians 4:2b, James 1:19-20)
- Do you Believe the Best or Assume the Worst?
Fight with Patience (Ephesians 4:2c, Romans 15:5-7)
- Patience is Tested Mainly because of the Friction between:
Conflict Avoiders:
Fear: Rejection
Tendency: Escape at all Costs
Result: Surface-level Relationships
Seek to Engage
Conflict Enjoyers:
Fear: Failure
Tendency: Win at all Costs
Result: Volatile Relationships
Seek to Understand
Fight with Acceptance (Ephesians 4:2d, Ephesians 4:14-15)

Application: In conflict, seek to Resolve, not Ignore. In your relationships, Fight for Unity.
