THE SUPREMACY OF CHRIST
“The Christian Life Delivers”
Colossians 1:1-5a

Introduction: Pluralism is the idea that all religions are equal and true. Syncretism is the idea that a person can create their own religion by combining other religions. Paul writes this letter to the Colossians to demonstrate how the Christian Life delivers without any help from the deceptive ideas of the cults or human reasoning.

The Christian experience is not only defined by a personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ, but also through certain attitudes, actions, and convictions defined by truth.

The Christian Life Connects Us

By A New Relationship (Colossians 1:1-2a)
--with God--“saint”
--with others--“brethren” 

By A New Location--“in Christ” (Colossians 1:2b)
--which determines destination (1 Corinthians 15:22)  
--which determines daily living (Romans 8:1-2)

The Christian Life Changes Us

God’s First Touch--“grace” (Colossians 1:2c)
--grace for saving (Ephesians 2:8)
--grace for surviving (2 Corinthians 12:9) (Hebrews 4:16)

God’s Second Touch--“peace” (Colossians 1:2c) (Philippians 4:7)

The Christian Life Completes Us

Someone To Care For--“love” (Colossians 1:3, 4b)
Someone To Believe In--“faith” (Colossians 1:4a)
Something To Anticipate--“hope” (Colossians 1:5a)

A church-wide (kids, students, & adults) week of loving & serving our community. We are staying right in Shelby and working in our own backyard. This gives us an opportunity to love  the people that God has put in our neighborhood.
