Colossians 3:18-21

Introduction: God has given different and unique roles for the husband and wife as well as parents and children.  What it comes down to is playing the position God has designed specifically for you. 

Husbands and Wives (Colossians 3:18-19)

• The Biblical Wife (Colossians 3:18)
  We each have different ranks according to God’s Word.
      A Fan (Ephesians 5:33)
      A Faithful Friend
      Follow His Lead
  
  
• The Biblical Husband (Colossians 3:19) (Hebrews 12:14-15)
      Learn Well (I Peter 3:7)
      Love Well
      Lead Well

Children & Fathers (Colossians 3:20-21)

• Children Obey (Colossians 3:20) (Proverbs 13:1) (James 1:27)
• Fathers Encourage (Colossians 3:21) (Colossians 3:17)
• Build a Healthy Home
      A place of encouragement 
      A place of refuge
      A place burdens can be shared
      A place that has listening ears and helping hands
      A place we want to be
      A place for a child to want to trust Christ

Application: Effective family life does not just happen. Godly families are the result of following God’s Way in a Deliberate, Intentional manner with Determination and Practice, each member playing their own position. (Psalm 127)
