THE SUPREMACY OF CHRIST
“The Lifestyle of the New Person”
Colossians 4:2-6

“The Spirit of the LORD is upon Me,
because He has anointed Me
to preach the gospel to the poor 

He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted,
to proclaim liberty to the captives
and recovery of sight to the blind,

to set at liberty
those who are oppressed….” (Luke 4:18)

Introduction: The lifestyle of the New Person in Christ is to have an intimate relationship with Him, while making Him known to others through opportunities and speech.

The Prayer of the New Person in Christ
Are you committing yourself to prayer? (Colossians 4:2a)
Are you watching as to what to pray for? (Colossians 4:2b)
Are you thanking God for answered prayer? (Colossians 4:2c)
Are you joining with others in matters of prayer? (Colossians 4:3a)

The Opportunities of the New Person in Christ
How?—Open Doors (Colossians 4:3b) (1 Corinthians 16:8-9) (Acts 14:27)
What?—The Gospel (Colossians 4:3c)
Where?—Any Place (Colossians 4:3d)
Why?—Compelled (Colossians 4:4)

The Walk of the New Person in Christ
Does what you do contradict what you say? (Colossians 4:5a)
Are you making the most of opportunities? (Colossians 4:5b)

The Speech of the New Person in Christ
Is your speech favored with grace? (Colossians 4:6a) (Luke 4:22b) (Ephesians 4:29)
Is your speech flavored with salt? (Colossians 4:6b)     
Is your speech found with answers? (Colossians 4:6c) (1 Peter 3:15)

This will be for all adult (12wks) and student (8wks) Connect Groups. The Study Guide will be $5 and can be purchased at the Connect Desk or the Church Office (Cash/Check/Card accepted).  We believe God will transform lives and our church family through this study.
