Joseph’s Sovereign God
Genesis 39:21 – 41:57

Introduction: “Life is not fair” is a common theme in the present day but how can it be fair? We live in a fallen world around fallen people. But there is One who can make sense of it all because He is sovereign. He has the power to orchestrate the events of our life even in a fallen world. This is clearly seen in the life of Joseph as his prison experience led to victory.

The Privileges of the Prison
God’s Plan

Application: We must learn to see our trials and struggles from God’s perspective.

Phillip Yancy writes in his book Prayer, “Most struggles in the Christian life center around two themes: why God doesn’t act the way I want Him to, and why I don’t act the way God wants me to. Prayer is the precise point where those themes converge.” 

The essence of prayer is getting God’s perspective on life, which demonstrates that Joseph must have been a man of prayer.
