“On the Cross”

Introduction: The brutality of Jesus’ last hours was horrific. It was a scene that was predicted in the OT, recorded in the gospels, and explained in the epistles to bring salvation to mankind.

The Details of Labor On the Cross

The Trials
  --before the religious (Matthew 26:57-68; 27:1-2)
  --before the Romans (John 19)
         the scourging (John 19:1)
         the mocking (John 19:2-4)
        the accusations (John 19:5-7)

The Crucifixion
  --the sayings on the cross (Luke 23:33-34) (Luke 23:44-46) (Matthew 27:46b) (John 19:30)
  --the suffering on the cross (John 19:17-35)

The Declaration of Love On the Cross (Romans 5)
The Proof Of God’s Love (Romans 5:6-8)
The Provision Of God’s Love (Romans 5:9-10)
The Products Of God’s Love (Romans 5:11)

Application: Jesus died on the cross that you could be forgiven and God’s wrath appeased toward you. How will you respond to His labor of love? How will you remember His provision of salvation?

Holiday Schedule

Wednesday 4/16: No Activities

Easter Sunday: Gatherings at 9:00 & 11:00.  Pastries & fruit served before both Gatherings.  Clubhouse (Birth-5th Grade) will be available during both Gatherings
