FROM DEATH TO LIFE
“The Byproducts of a Transformed Life”
Ephesians 4:25-32 

Introduction: Jesus guaranteed the potential for a transformed life through His death, burial, and resurrection. The Holy Spirit provides what is necessary to live a transformed life—through a process called sanctification. Sanctification is the process of taking off what needs to be taken off and putting on what needs to be put on. (2 Corinthians 5:17) (Romans 12:2)

Transformed Words (Matthew 12:36-37)
Take Off:  Lying (Ephesians 4:25a) (Proverbs 6:16-19) (John 8:44)
Put On:  Truth (Ephesians 4:25b) (Ephesians 6:14) (1 Thessalonians 2:13) (2 Timothy 2:15)
Take Off:  Corrupt Speech (Ephesians 4:29a) (James 1:26) (Matthew 15:11)
Put On:  Encouragement (Ephesians 4:29b) (1 Thessalonians 5:14) (2 Timothy 4:2)

Transformed Wrath 
Take Off:  Anger & Bitterness (Ephesians 4:26) (Romans 12:17-19)
Put On:  Forgiveness & Freedom (4:26a-27) (Hebrews 12:14-15)

Transformed Work
Take Off:  Stealing & Laziness (Ephesians 4:28a) (2 Thessalonians 3:10-13)
Put On:  Productivity & Generosity (Ephesians 4:28b) (Acts 20:33-35)

Transformed Way
Take Off:  Resentment (Ephesians 4:31)
Put On:  Graciousness (Ephesians 4:32)

Application: All through Ephesians 4 Paul has reminded his readers clearly and repeatedly, that God expects His redeemed children to be different from the way they were before He saved them, and He expects them to be different from the world around them. When they are not the Holy Spirit is grieved. (Ephesians 4:30)

 - July 23 - Family Skate Night at Kylie’s Skating Rink
August 6-20: Meet as usual
August 27: No Wednesday Connect Groups - Back to School Bash
Bryan will to lead the  mid-week Bible Study in the Legacy Suite each week throughout the Summer, (except for July 16).  If no other Connect Groups are meeting, there will be no childcare.

6th-12th Grade Students: $45 (Includes: 5 Meals & T-shirt)
Adults: Free!

This is a mission trip right in our own backyard! We will have the opportunity to serve
our area, hangout with friends, and make a difference here in our community.
