“The Cost of an Undisciplined Life"
Genesis 25:29-34

Introduction: Hope alone won’t change your life. Habits will. Discipline, not Desire determines Destination.
“Discipline yourself for the purpose of Godliness.” -1 Timothy 4:7

A Lack of Discipline Always…

Focuses on Now Results, Never on Later Rewards (Genesis 25:29-31)
   - “What will feel good now?” vs. “What will form me later?”

Exaggerates Appetites over Perspective (Genesis 25:32)
   - Your appetites never Go Away
   - Your appetites are never fully and finally Satisfied
   - You will either Rule your appetites or your appetites will Rule you

Trades the Important for the Immediate (Genesis 25:33)
   - Undisciplined Living: Exchanges long-term Blessings for short-term Satisfaction
   - Disciplined Living: Embraces short-term Sacrifices for Long-term Blessings

Results in Self-Contempt and Inner-Regret (Genesis 25:34)
   - When discipline is absent, Shame becomes the inner Narrator
   - Undisciplined people Binge on all the wrong things and Starve for the things that truly matter

Application: Discipline is choosing between what you want Now and what you want Most. What we practice Daily trains us what to value Ultimately.
