“How’s the View?”
2 Timothy 3:1-16 

Introduction: Hope alone won’t change your life. Habits will. Discipline, not Desire determines Destination. When it comes to discipline, you Become what you Behold. 

3 Shaping Views:
- Self-View: “Who Am I?”
     o How you make sense of your Identity and Purpose
- World-view: “What is Real?”
    o How you make sense of your Experiences and Reality around you
- God-view: “Who is God?”
    o How you make sense of ultimate Meaning and Authority
    o Your God-view ultimately shapes your self-view and world-view

Corrupted Self-view: “I define Truth” (2 Timothy 3:1-5)
- My Feelings become the Facts

Corrupted World-view: “We define Truth” (2 Timothy 3:6-9)
- Our Culture becomes the Compass

Clear God-view: “God has Spoken” (2 Timothy 3:10-16)
- God’s Revelation defines Reality

o Inspired: The Holy Spirit is the Bible’s divine Author, who through human authors, inspired the very words of Scripture. He authenticates His Word to us by His inward witness and opens our minds to understand its meaning.

 o Inerrant: The Bible in it’s original manuscripts, is completely free from error in all that it affirms, including but not limited to historical, scientific, and theological matters.

Application: God uses His Word to reveal Himself and to shape your God-view. Your God-view affects the decisions you Make, the actions you Take, and the future you Create. So how’s the view?
