“The Greatest Prologue”
John 1:1-14

Introduction: John isn’t writing a Biography for Information, he’s writing an Invitation for Transformation- that you mayBelieve and that you may have Life.

Opening: The Origin Story (John 1:1-3). 
  - Jesus is the Word
     o Bible: Revelation of God Transcribed
     o Jesus: Revelation of God Personified
  - Jesus is God
     o He is Co-Equal with God
     o He is Co-Eternal with God
     o He is Co-Creator with God

Tension: The Light Shines and the Conflict is Revealed (John 1:4-11) 
  - The Hero: Jesus is the Light
  - The Villain: The World rejects the Light
     o The tragedy of the story is not that the Light failed to Shine, but that the World refused to See

Response: We are invited to Join the story (John 1:12-13)
  - An invitation to a new Identity
     o Not Achieved, but Received
     o Given by God alone through Faith alone

Plot Twist: The Author enters the story (John 1:14)
  - Jesus Dwelled among us to Die for us
     o Full of Grace: He came to save Sinners
     o Full of Truth: He came to reveal our Need for Him

Application: Don’t just study the Word, Surrender to Him. Don’t just see the Light, Believe in Him. Don’t just admire His story, Join His story.
