Message

THAT YOU MAY...
Let’s Talk"
John 4:1-42

Introduction: John isn’t writing a Biography for Information; he’s writing an Invitation for Transformation- that you mayBelieve and that you may have Life. That you may Drink of the Living water and never thirst again.

The Journey (John 4:3-4) (Isaiah 55:6)

  • The Plan (John 8:48) (Romans 6:12-13) (Matthew 6:33)
Jesus will walk through any barrier to find us. No one is too far gone for the gospel to reach them.
Yeilding to God’s plan is always the best direction for us to go
  • The Plot
3 Gospel truths are seen in the plot of land. It, like the Gospel, was a gift. (Jacob gave it to Joseph) This gift, like the Gospel, cost the Father. It cost Jacob. And this gift, like the Gospel, was given because of love.

The Meeting (John 4:7-15)

  • The QuestionWill you give me a drink?”
    - This meeting is about evangelism. Reaching people for Christ is not always comfortable and may at times be difficult.
    - Jesus is tired and thirsty, and she has the water He needs. Jesus actually has the water she needs. He was thirsty and He knew it; She was thirsty and she didn’t know it. (Luke 19:10)
    - John 4 is all about sovereign

The Water (Romans 10:12-13)
Jesus is leading her step by step to saving faith.

The Truth  (Hebrews 4:15)
Real love means knowing the truth about someone else and reaching out to them anyway.

The Changed Life
God uses those who are willing to be used.

Application: We don’t need a theology degree to share Jesus.  All we need is an encounter.  She said, “Come see a man who told me everything I ever did!”  She brings her whole community to Him and many believed
