“Denial to Deliverance"
Text: John 21

Introduction: John isn’t writing a Biography for Information, he’s writing an Invitation for Transformation that you may Believeand that you may have Life and that you may move from Fear and Failure to a life of Love and Service for the kingdom of God. (Revelation 3:20)

The Reality of Failure (John 21:1–3) (Luke 5:1-11)
When we feel like failures, our instinct is to go back to our old life. But Jesus meets us right where we are.  It’s never Jesus that turns His back on us. We have to remember when we mess up, fess up, don’t ever give up!

The Grace of the Provider (John 21:4–14)
 - A Challenge from Jesus. When we do things in our own sufficiency, we fail.
 - A Command from Jesus
 - The Capability of Jesus (Philippians 4:19). Our job is to obey and realize that the harvest is the Lord’s.

The Restoration of the Broken (John 21:15-19)
In the original Greek text, Jesus and Peter use two different words for love: 
 - Agape (divine, unconditional love)
 - Phileo (brotherly affection, deep friendship). (Matthew 4:19) (I Corinthians 1:9)
Jesus moves Peter from a position of guilt to a position of responsibility. (Galatians 6:2) (Romans 8:1)

Following Jesus to The End (John 21:20-25)
Peter, keep your eyes on Me!
(Hebrews 12:1-2) (Colossians 3:2)

Application: God prefers your honest weakness over your prideful performance.  Jesus meets us in our failure, feeds us with His grace, restores our purpose, and calls us to look only at Him.

I'm A Christian Now Class

Begins Sunday, September 20
A 5-week class for kids 1^st - 5^th grade who have made a profession of faith. We recommend this class before baptism. Parents are asked to attend the first class with their child.
