A SEAT AT THE TABLE
“We Grow: More than Consuming”
Ephesians 4:11-16

Introduction: The church belongs to Jesus, and He is our Lead Story. Jesus calls us to more than simply having a seat in the Room, He invites us to a seat at His Table to share in the Life and Mission of His church. At His table: We belong, we Grow, we serve, and we go.

We Grow…

By being Equipped for Ministry (Ephesians 4:11-12)
- God gives the Church…
   o An established Foundation (Ephesians 2:20)
         Apostles: Divinely appointed Representatives who witnessed the risen Jesus and were uniquely empowered to establish and govern the early church
         Prophets: Spirit-guided Messengers who received and proclaimed God’s revelation while the New Testament was still being written, establishing the church’s doctrine
   o A continuing Function
         Evangelists: Gifted Proclaimers who take the Good News to the lost and call people to faith in Christ
         Shepherds/Teachers: Pastors who guide the local church through teaching God’s Word, prayer, and casting biblical vision for God’s people
- The Church gives the world Disciple-Makers
Goal: I learn to Feed myself

By being Grounded in Christ (Ephesians 4:13-14)
- We measure growth by Christlikeness
- We become stable in Truth
 Goal: I learn to Stand firm

By being Connected to the Body (Ephesians 4:15-16)
- We speak the Truth in Love
   o Truth without love is Harsh
   o Love without truth is Hollow
- We build One Another up
Goal: I learn to help Others grow

Returning to Pleasant City Church campus! Camp out Friday night and enjoy an evening of worship, the Word, & fun activities!  Supper Friday night & Bojangles Biscuits Saturday morning!
