James 4:13-17

Introduction:  We come to a passage that shows the self-sufficiency of man.  Self-sufficiency is planning without God.  There is nothing wrong with making plans, yet when we make plans without seeking His will, we get in trouble. We are to plan and think about what God wants as we face each day. 

This Individual Sees Himself As The Final Authority (James 4:13)

• Chooses His Own Time Schedule
• Selects His Own Location
• Limits His Stay to Please Himself
• Arranged His Activities so He Benefits

This Individual is Confronted with the Brevity (Shortness) of Life (James 4:14) (Proverbs 27:1)

This Individual is Given A Plan (James 4:15)

• Romans 12:2 (The Lord’s Will For All Of Us)
• Doing God’s Will is Investing in Eternity and it Brings Peace (I Thessalonians 4:3) (I Thessalonians 5:16-18) (Acts 18:21)

The Individual (You & Me) Connects with and Impacts Others (James 4:17) (Matthew 22:36-38) (Acts 20:26-27)

Paul Loved Others and Poured Into Their Lives - II Timothy 1:2-9

• We Need to Replace our fear with Power.
• We need to Replace our Fear with Love. (I John 4:7-8, 18-19)
• We Need To Replace our Fear with a Sound Mind (II Corinthians 10:4-5)
