Week 8—Reaching the World—Through Mission
2 Kings 7

Introduction: God has given PCC the great privilege and responsibility to Reach the World with the Glory and Good News of Jesus. We believe Reaching the World involves both Ministry & Mission.

• Ministry takes place within the Church with the goal of Equipping the Saint to a Full Maturity. (Ephesians 4:11-13)
• Mission takes place outside the Church with the goal of Saving the Sinner from a Cursed Eternity.

Our Problem & God’s Promise (6:24-33; 7:1)

• For the Christ-Follower, this life is the closest they ever get to Hell
• For the Lost, this life is the closest they ever get to Heaven

Our Doubt & God’s Direction (2 Kings 7:2-5)

• Doubt leads to Despair
• The Logical Question: “Why Sit here until we Die?”

God’s Miracle & Our Message (2 Kings 7:5-15)

• Man’s Religion vs. God’s Salvation
  • Religion is Outside-In: “I’ll do something for God if He does something for me.”
  • Salvation is Inside-Out: “Christ in me, the hope of Glory” (Colossians 1:27)

God’s Charity & Our Choice (2 Kings 7:16-20)
