“Simeon & Anna"
Luke 2:25-38

Introduction: Over 2000 years later, God is still inviting us into the Christmas Story. Simeon & Anna’s Simeon & Anna’s faith allowed them to have a special part.

Simeon

God used Simeon in a special way because:

   Simeon allowed himself to be controlled by the Holy Spirit
     (Luke 2:26-28a)

   Bible truths regarding the Holy Spirit:

• He Teaches & Reminds (John 14:26)
• He Convicts (John 16:8)
• He Guides (John 16:13)
• He Empowers (Acts 1:8)

   Simeon was prepared to die (Luke 2:28b-29)(II Timothy 4:6-7)
   Simeon cared for all (Luke 2:30-32)
   Simeon blessed others by sharing the Word of God (Luke 2:33-35) (Romans 10:14)

Anna (Luke 2:36-38)

God used Anna in a special way because:

   Anna learned to daily abide in God (Luke 2:37)(John 15:5)
   Anna was devoted to her calling  (Luke 2:37)
   Anna had a thankful Heart (Luke 2:38a) (Phil 2:14) (I Thess 5:18)   
   (Hebrews 13:15-16)
   Anna told others about Jesus (Luke 2:38b)
