Choose Joy, The Best Is Yet To Come
Philippians 3:17-4:1 

Series Introduction: Joy is the unshakable assurance that God is in control of all the details of our lives, the confidence that ultimately, we can trust God in everything that comes into our lives, and the determined purpose to praise Him in all things. (1 Corinthians 2:9)

Introduction: In this text Paul is making a sharp contrast between those who live for this world and those who live for the world to come. It appears that both groups were professing Christians but had vastly different perspectives about how they lived their lives--one group ends in destruction while the other group receives the assurance of Heaven.

Application:  We are called to live with eternity in mind realizing that we are citizens of another world—a place called Heaven. Do you live like this is a present reality in your life?

“As they run the spiritual race,
believers must look to godly examples
for inspiration and instruction.   

They must also look out
for those enemies of the truth
who would lead them astray. 

Finally, they must focus on the glorious hope
that is theirs at the return of Christ
—the transformation of their bodies
into conformity with His.   

Then, regenerated fully in soul and body,
they will be suited for eternity (Heaven).”
